I don't have many friends, but I have a lot of acquaintances. The handful of friends that I do have are people that have lasted threw the years. No matter the miles that have separated us, or that we didn't see each other for years at a time...these people are still in my life. When I call them, or they call me it's like we just talked the other day. Friends will pick their battles with you. If I have hurt my friends, they either bring it to my attention and we deal with it, or we just turn the other cheek and press on. Nobody will be perfect and over the years people will grow and change. Sometimes friends do things that we may not approve of or support, but do we stop them or even turn our backs, or push them to do it our way? No...we let our friends do what they do, and when they fall or if they succeed we are there to support/be a shoulder to lean on/or to just be there.
I have recently jumped head first into a major life change. One that has changed from what was expected from in the begining. I have left the comfort of my independent life and friends, to one that is living with the folks (who are close friends in themselves to me) in a room divided by a japanese screen with my 7yr old nephew in the next room. As bad as that may sound to some, it has worked out just fine:) But I didn't move out here for any old reason, I moved out here to better myself. I moved out here to test myself in a way that I have to take a deep hard look at myself as a person. I think most of us go threw life from one situation to the next, and never stop to listen to your soul. We just move along in society as a citizen.
Some things when exposed to the extremes of fire, come out beautiful and strong with their true form exposed. I am exposing myself to that fire! When this is done, whenever that may be, I know my friends and family will be there with a drink and a smile:)
My parents have mentioned before, during my other dramas, that God only gives you what you can handle. I also believe that there is a reason for everything in this life and I have to do the best I can every day and have trust in my instincts and God to make the right decisions. I'm still looking for my passion in this life....so who knows what the future holds for me:)
