Actual Vegas post

After a day of sleeping in late, free food consisting of great pasta salads, hot dogs, hamburgers, and good people and another nap I now feel refreshed and in a great effort not to do school work I'm going to update about this past week :)

We took off for Vegas on Thursday afternoon (10 April). It was sort of last minute. Seanny's folks were going and he misses his family and I wanted to spend some time with his folks so we figured "why not" Vegas is considered Hawaii's "9th island". So off we were.
We paid a little more for a direct flight since we were just going to be in Vegas till 12 April, we didn't want to waste time. We bought the shuttle vouchers threw Expedia with our hotel and flight. Don't waste the money, ESPECIALLY if you are staying at the Luxor! The Luxor is about a 10-15 min flight from the airport, if that, and the shuttle went ALL the way to Freemont (old Vegas) before dropping us off last! Not a good welcome for Seanny, a first timer to Vegas.
His parents, Sandy and Kevin, were waiting for us with open arms. Once we got checked in and dropped off our bags and we had some late night non-healthy dinner and pretty much called it a day :) The next morning we met the folks for breakfast/brunch and started our sightseeing. We ended up at the Harley Davidson Cafe, Seanny's favorite thing of the trip, and his Dad managed to noticed that you could get married there! Hmpf.... I promised that for an anniversary that we could have it in Vegas, I'm cool like that :D We had tickets for the Criss Angel show at the Luxor. I'm not a big magician fan, regardless of who it is, but this was a combo Cirque de Sol show which I am a big fan of so we went. WARNING: The show SUCKED! I believe trying to merge two great shows into one, they both ended up suffering and this show is a great example of that mistake. I don't recommend it to anyone. Kevin is a BIG Criss Angel fan, that's why we went, and even he wasn't impressed with the show. Before the show we met up with my friend Bruce and had a nice dinner at the Cathouse at the Luxor, great food/great friend/great ambiance! After the crap show Kevin and Sandy called it a night but Seanny and I went out and about. We ended up at the Nine Fine Irishman Pub at NewYork NewYork. We then mozied over to the dueling piano bar and had a great time. During all of this we would randomly stop and gamble and of course drink ;) I think it was about 6am Vegas time by the time we made it to bed. Viva Las Vegas!
The next day was In-and-Out Burger! YUMMY! Then we checked out some more of the Vegas strip. Seanny got this kick ass shirt, that is in the pic... the one with the roses and skulls! You can't tell in the picture but his buttons are skulls too! The next night Kevin and Sandy went and saw Ka a different Cirque de Sol show and loved it :D While they were at the show we checked out Cesars and walked around a bit then met up with them at MGM. We ended up having dinner over at Mandalay Bay and then Seanny and I walked around a little bit more and relaxed at a bar in the Luxor and had drinks. Then next morning it was back to Hawaii.
Long flights, a short visit, but so worth it!
