Alright, had a day off today and I went to talk to Darlene. I'm going to be cleaning her blinds for her so she wanted to give me the low down. But before talking to Darlene I tried the whole Nair thing again. I'm going to bitch about that stuff AGAIN:
K, I've tried the whole cream every now and then to see if it's worth it. It's been years since I last tried it so I figured I'd give it another shot. Hell, they should have improved it right?! Well I can put it on and then shower, so I get some multitasking done instead of slathering on the cream and walking round with my toxic legs trying not to touch anything or sit down. So I lather it on, one thing of the stuff covers both legs but that's it. I mess around for a little bit, the legs are tingling and then I jump in the shower. I wash my hair and then test an area to see if the hair is coming off. Another thing to point out, usually with these things you should grow your hair out some....so i didn't shave for about 3 days, today being the 4th. So that's not easy to do when you live in Hawaii and you're Italian and you have more hair than most :( But I've worn jeans to school so it worked out. Anyhoo....after my test I'm impressed cuz the hair did come out easy enough, so I continue to work over my legs. The stuff comes with a sponge and you are suppose to circle away the stuff. O.k. THAT'S time consuming! But I do it, my legs are starting to burn. Finally get everything off, my legs are somewhat smooth, but I can tell not everything was gone SO i still run over my legs with a razor-which totally defeats the purpose of this stuff. When I get out of the shower my legs feel raw, and as I dry off I can see a whole area that was missed! ARGH But whatever...I'm done with the whole cream/shaving the legs for the day! My legs feel better after putting on some body cream on my legs but that's it. I WILL NEVER try that stuff again? I wonder how they test that stuff cuz it never works as they proclaim in their ads?! I seriously doubt that everyone who buys it is just curious about it and is just trying it....so who does this stuff actually work on?
So, if any family or friends come into a million dollars and they feel like giving me an awesome gift-make it electrolysis and I will forever be indebted to you!
After that exciting morning of trying to burn off my legs....
Then I drove to the Punchbowl again to redo Sailor Jerry's gravestone rubbing. I wasn't happy with the first one. I brought the rum with me, which decided to spill in the back seat so the car smells like rum, yum:) Then I drove to Diamond Head to see where my drill will be tomorrow morning, then stopped at the NEX for lunch and some shopping.
For HPU I'm reading the book "The Omnivore's Dilemma" by Michael Pollen. It's a good read and I've been curious about being a vegetarian and this book is pushing me more and more to that way of life! I am not deciding on this cuz it's cruel to animals, I'm all about eating meat! What I do have a problem with is eating meat that is raised on feed that is unnatural for cattle. Since it is unnatural, it has stuff in it to make it digestible for the cattle: liquefied fat, protein supplement of molasses and urea (urea is a form of synthetic nitrogen-similar to fertilizer)! So when we are eating beef....we are eating corn, fat, and nitrogen?! WTF? No wonder people have medical issues! I still got a lot to read but so far this is what I've been learning and it amazes me. I'm concerned about the environment and I try to do little things and work myself up to being a better person-this....not eating meat is one way for me to do this. Granted it's going to be hard, but I'm going to ease into it. I'll just switch to just eating fish, but then I need to stop that too. The are feeding salmon on this corn feed too! When was the last time you heard about a fish eating corn?! I also realize that I got a vacation coming up....I am going to attempt to be good about this but I've already decided that my possibly last fast food burger will be from Ralley's (I've been looking forward to that).
Well I'm doing laundry and I have a week of school work that I need to make up.
So that's enough for now.
Cheers
