4th of July (pics)

It's been a nice long and relaxing weekend. Seanny was off on Friday and we went up to Mom and Dad's to take care of our laundry instead of doing it on Sunday. Before we went to Mom and Dad's we stopped at the H-D store cuz Seanny needed to get some flip flops and swim trunks so we could go swimming at the BBQ on Saturday and he can go with me to the beach. They had to be H-D gear, but it's a small price to pay for him to go with me to the beach :D So after about 8 months here in Hawaii he "caved" and got slippas and swim trunks! He's a cutie. We then went on over to Mom and Dad's and started our laundry. That evening we went to Lina's (a neighbor friend of Mom and Dad's) sister's house for Lina's birthday. After good food and good conversation we headed back to Mom and Dad's, finished up our laundry and headed home.
On Saturday we got up early and heading over to Kailua for their 4th of July parade. Seanny and I had shirts embroidered with the Friends of St. Patrick logo and we walked in the parade there in town. It was the first time I've walked in a parade and it was fun. You can't help but smile at everyone while you walk down the road. I had candy that I was handing out to the kids and Seanny was elected to be a flag bearer, which happened to be the Hawaii state flag. We didn't walk together but we both had fun. We walked back to Chuck's house for the BBQ and he had a pool for us to cool off in. We had fun sitting around talking about whatever. When we got in the pool Seanny got a water polo game going. Our team lost but I think we stopped keeping score and just had fun till the little kids that were there decided they had enough of the structured play ;) When we got home, we were both tired from the sun and the walking and took a nap. That evening there was a big firework show, actually the biggest on Oahu, at Ala Moana beach. We would of had a great view from our roof top but we were lazy and didn't go watch. Fireworks are neat but the big show lasted less than 10 minutes. Even though we didn't go watch we could hear the loud bangs. They do it over the water and as beautiful as that is, one has to wonder about all the left overs from the fireworks, are they just polluting the water?! Hmmmm
Sunday is our lazy day, it's going on 12 and we are still bumming around.
After taking pictures I realized that I didn't take hardly any of Seanny and I, just of the parade... I need to get better about that.

Life is work!

Every day at work I see it, people wanted a quick fix or an easy way to feel/do better.  They always seem a little surprised when I say that...
