Mom's Not Feeling Well :( & A Earth Friendly Tip

Today is Mom's 3rd day of feeling like crap! She's been in bed for the past few days and haven't been able to keep any food down, her throat hurts...so Dad took her into the acute care clinic this morning. Hopefully it's not strep! I remember when I got strep it was like I got hit by a mac truck...it sucks. So we will see how it goes...

So I'm sitting home this morning while Phoenix watches cartoons. I am so not a morning person. It seems like I actually get to sleep in until 7 during the week days but on the weekends I'm waking up around 6 cuz of all the movement. Dad and Phoenix had a discussion this morning about cartoons/superheros. Phoenix was swearing that his friend was a cartoon etc., cuz he told him so and that the bad guy in Meet the Robinsons was a real person! Yeah this "discussion" was at 0615! I then heard Dad making calls to get Mom in and so I just figured I'd get up and get myself a cup of coffee. I was going to start a load of laundry but Dad beat me to it, so I'm waiting my turn on that one.

I've been reading this book "Gorgeously Green" and it's about living an earth friendly life by Sophie Uliano. It's a good read. It's not all hippie chick weirdness. It talks about simple things that you can do to be better to the environment. I've been trying to do some of the things and it's not that hard. Two of the things I've been doing better at is that I got a reusable water bottle from Sigg.com, so I always take that when I need water (work, beach, just out and about) and I always try to bring my own shopping bag when I go shopping. It's a little weird when I'm checking out and tell the cashier, I have my own bag. Or if it's just small item or just a few things I just tell them I don't need a bag. Sometimes I feel the weirdness from the cashier but whatever...they'll get over it and the earth will like me for it:) I also try to pay attention to how things are packaged, and the plastics they use. The number 1 on the bottom of plastic containers is the best to recycle-most recycling areas only accept 1 and 2 (check your area). Focus on 1,2,4, or 5 plastics...AVOID 3,6, and 7. That's my earth friendly tip for the day:)

I think Dad's stuff is done in the washer...my turn! YEAH for laundry day!

Life is work!

Every day at work I see it, people wanted a quick fix or an easy way to feel/do better.  They always seem a little surprised when I say that...
