I had another acupuncture treatment this morning. Not only did I get needles from head to toe, maybe between 14-20 needles total. It's hard to keep track. Before that though he worked out some of my soreness and knots in my back-which I always seem to have a lot of. He started with a massage but then did cupping which is......
"Cupping refers to an ancient Chinese practice in which a cup is applied to the skin and the pressure in the cup is reduced (by using change in heat or by suctioning out air), so that the skin and superficial muscle layer is drawn into and held in the cup. In some cases, the cup may be moved while the suction of skin is active, causing a regional pulling of the skin and muscle (the technique is called gliding cupping)."
It seemed to work a lot faster to work out my knots than traditional massage:) Instead of kneading the knots, it pulled them out. It was pretty cool-granted it looks like I was attacked by a squid on my back with the suction marks:) It's something I'd defiantly do again. Anyhoo...needle John did mention that everyone should get regular massages, where have I heard that before? :) So I'm going to look into places near by and hopefully find someone that isn't overly expensive.
After the needles and the cupping I did a little shopping-which is always good for a girls soul:)
Now it's relaxation and bum time.
:)
