Don't want to study....

Last night I went out with a couple of girls from the Soap Factory. We went to First Friday in Chinatown. Art galleries stay open later, restaurants have deals, bands play, etc etc. I was looking forward to the gallery stroll portion. We did a little of that but we first stopped at a juice bar for an all vegetarian/organic dinner. It was o.k., but I was eating stuff I had no clue as to what it was. The buckwheat soba with seaweed was good :) The rest... o.k., I would have liked to tweaked some of it.... and when I know I'm doing vegetarian that's when I'm like "where's the meat?".
We did eventually hit some art stuff, one area was playing loud house music and a girl was getting airbrushed painted in good ol' red, white, and blue. That was different. We ended up at the Loft to hear a band play. They were decent, similar to something Sublime would do.
I do realize that I'm over the club thing. Especially if a line or a cover charge is involved. Chinatown has a lot of clubs and you could tell the "good" ones due to the lines that progressively got longer as the night wore on. I dunno....I guess if I go somewhere I'd like to be able to have a conversation, even if there is live music. I noticed the dance floor was small, I guess that's the norm now a days with clubs. WTF? What's the point in getting your grove on when you're rubbing elbows with the person next to you? Granted I don't need a lot of space but I do need some space. A couple of couples were trying to salsa dance on the floor.... yeah THAT defiantly doesn't work too well on a small dance floor! It was funny to watch them cuz they'd get all fancy will their spins and then spin into someone and then act surprised by this fact! Hello... you are not the only person out there! Anyhoo....
One of the galleries had a lot of "women" art. It's for Girlfest that is going on; it's for preventing violence against women through education and art. There were 2 collages done, one had photos of all natural breast called "God given" and the other was the fake boobs called "endowment". To look at these two collages you'd think o.k., whatever... it's a bunch of boobs. But like most art you got to take a minute to look and also read about the artist, what they were trying to show. Sure enough it got better. The two collages were to show how in our pursuit for the perfect set of boobs, that in the end they are really are not all that perfect. Yep the natural photos showed some sagging and the usually look of what age does to one's breast but to compare that with the fake boobs! The symmetry was off, uneven, just some weird stuff going on, nipples were a little lopsided etc. So, natural is more perfect than whatever surgery can do. Just say NO to unnatural tatas :)

Life is work!

Every day at work I see it, people wanted a quick fix or an easy way to feel/do better.  They always seem a little surprised when I say that...
