I know I'm slow in posted but I got back Sunday from Virginia, and had a week of school to catch up on before class (I'm still playing catch up), and work....blah blah blah. I was also holding out for some more pics from Uncle Bobbie but that may be a couple of more weeks so here's what I got picture wise.
First off, some folks didn't even realize I went to Virginia for bike week (I won't name names) so here's some back ground on this surprise little vacation-A few months ago Seanny and I started chit chatting on Facebook. Seanny was my "first" long term/love in high school. He has a Harley, Lady Grey, which he loves to put it mildly. Well he had the opportunity to go to bike week in Ocean City, MD and he asked me if I wanted to go. My first reaction was, "let me pull that money out of my ass!", he then offered to pay for half. Well, at that point I was like WTF! This is a great opportunity for me to have some fun, to have no worries, etc. So I said I'll be there! For the girls out there I'd like to point out that I managed to live out of a saddle bag for a week, rode on the back of Lady Grey for about 3 hrs both ways down to Ocean City from Newport News Va....my butt was a little sore but I had fun.
So bike week....I flew into Va on Monday and Seanny picked me up. We may have had a lot of experiences between us in the past 16 yrs but I think we are basically the same :) Went back to his place and we hung out and drank in the garage and BSed. He then had a couple of friends stop by and I think we were up pretty late that night. That first night I shaved his head, at his request. Brave man, asking a drunk chick to shave his head but whatever! Tuesday we had to go get his girl, she was getting an uplift per say...new pipes (now she's throaty and loud like a Harley should be), mirrors (for the coppers cuz they don't do much but look cute), new casings on some of her lights, and that's all that I can recall. He was suppose to have some mini-apes (handle bars) put on her but there was a delay in that. Regardless, Seanny was STOKED. So on Tuesday we rode! It was awesome. Virginia is beautiful and we went through Yorktown, through the battlefields...it was just so awesome to be in the midst of all that history. Sometimes we forget that we may be young in the US but the historical places we got...are pretty damn awesome. We did some bar hoping-another late night. Wednesday it was down to Ocean City. The weather wasn't the best, overcast, windy, and for Seanny COLD. Since I was behind him I wasn't in the direct way of the coldness. Going over the bay bridge tunnels were and experience. It's long and with the cross wind it sucked! But we got there in one piece. We stayed with Seanny's Uncle Bobbie and Aunt Judy at a condo they were staying at. K....let me sum up bike week: bikes, drinking, riding, bikes, riding, bikes, eating, riding, drinking :) One day we went over to Delaware, it's a no lid state so that's a big thing. We went to this cute town with a boardwalk and had drinks (we had drinks everywhere). I can't even describe how much fun we had. Saturday we had to come back cuz I had an EARLY flight on Sunday to come home. Saturday we watched some of the VTech game...well I napped. Then we went out and hung out with some folks.
Well that was the basics, now the down and dirty.....
Now the best part....I'm in love, yep that's right I was hit upside the head and I'm totally amazed by the whole thing! I was going to have fun at bike week, to just relax...not to reconnect on some romantic level with anyone. So it's true....when you give up, live your life, and stop looking TA DA.
I'm happy, and so at peace with everything! He's not what I was looking for but everything that I needed:)
